CHANGING A HOPE
Date : 2020-09-08Miss Van Sufi, 23, who is a scholar of Cambodian Tertiary Scholarship Program (CTSP), studies at Faculty of Law in majoring in Public Administration and will graduate in the late 2020. She has an older sister, three younger brothers and a younger sister living with parents who are the cake baker and farmers.
After graduating from high school, she wanted to continue her studies, but her family were poor and having many members. She was forced to drop out of school to earn a living. She did not hope to continue her studies. By that time, she helped her mother make cakes at home, make cakes to order and help her aunts sell rices and ices at home.
She received information about the KAPE's scholarship program through her sister. She immediately applied for the scholarship by dong the test and being assessed by the KAPE's staff her actual situation at her own home before becoming a scholarship student.
Ms Van Sufi said, "I have changed a lot such as liking reading books, dare to speak publicly, know how to ask questions when I meet new people, learn new lessons from attending training courses and voluntarily join help social work." All of these above-mentioned make me develop my personality quickly."
She is currently working as an intern for Kampuchean Young Learders' Action (KYLA) project in Kampong Cham.
