>The Cambodian Tertiary Scholarship Program (CTSP), held an exposure trip for 15 of its 115 scholarship students to visit 9 institutes,companies and organizations in Phnom Penh from 7 – 9 July 2013. The aim of the visit was to experience firsthand successful businesses and companies, to learn more about leadership and management skills, build good relationships and communication between CTSP students and female role models and relevant agencies and to inspire CTSP students to work towards and reach their future employment goals. The visit was jointly organized by KAPE and The Asia Foundation.

Each institute or company representative made a presentation to share good experience to the CTSP scholarship students and gave plenty of time for the students, who were very curious to find out more about how they could improve themselves.  The CTSP’s students were given details about running a successful business, managing and performing well in their jobs and given numerous tips about being successful in their studies as well as future managers and leaders.

The exposure visit took the students to the Harpswell Foundation, including meeting a member of the US Ambassador’s Youth Council, ANZ Royal Bank, Lotus Outreach, the National Employment Agency (NEA) and HR Inc, Taquaria Corona restaurant, Toul Sleng Museum, Amatak Spa and  Sentosa Silk.

Ms Chhoun Nara, studying a four year bachelor degree in Business and majoring in Accounting, said “I was so excited to learn from so many new experiences, especially how to communicate with people and become more brave! It is so amazing for a girl from such a poor family to have the chance to visit so many different institutes and gain so much different knowledge and experience from all of them!”

The CTSP project is jointly managed by the Asia Foundation and KAPE, through funding from the Shirin Pandju Merali Foundation and a number of individual donors.
